The great strength of Missionary rods is their multi-piece versatility that has endeared them to thousands of traveling anglers. Fit one in a car cubby hole, briefcase or holiday luggage, add a reel and wallet of flies and you’re ready to fly fish anywhere, any time. They also make the perfect space-friendly spare rod. In a boat they are all but invisible and in a rucksack they take up no room whatsoever. But there’s a lot more to a Missionary than travel convenience. Neither the seven nor five-piece models sacrifice anything in action compared to standard rod designs, giving great possibilities. The seven-piece has a slightly faster action of the two, whilst the five-piece is a little easier to use. And of course, there are rods in the range that are true specialists in their own right.
